Social Media Strategy

The Office of Strategic Communications (OCOMM) maintains the strategic direction and development of all university-wide social media accounts and campaigns and provides guidance to schools and programs. OCOMM also provides strategic consultation on social media campaigns and new account creation as well as intermittent training and best practice documentation. OCOMM is focused on facilitating collaboration and promoting a unified message across Georgetown social media accounts. OCOMM also oversees the daily content management, monitoring and moderation of social Georgetown social platforms and promotes university-related initiatives.

The office also oversees the Social Media Working Group, which seeks to elevate the university’s social media presence to a best-in-class performance. The group is designed to facilitate community amongst the members increasing knowledge, awareness, and best practices in social media at Georgetown.
